Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub (American actress and comedian, as well as activist) is a comedian. After moving to America her birthplace was in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents. Her first professional work was as an actor for children. From 2013 until 2016, she worked as the AT&T salesperson Lily Adams, and since 2020. Her fame was boosted for her role in television commercials. In addition to commercial appearances, she also appeared as a regular in the series of the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also starred in the role of a regular character on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016)-2017. Vayntrub was also part of the cast as Squirrelgirl for Marvel Rising in 2018 following her appearance in the pilot series New Warriors. Vayntrub was Jewish and born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. At the age of two, she immigrated together with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She settled in West Hollywood. Due to the family's financial difficulties the actress began appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials as a five-year-old. Vayntrub briefly studied at Beverly Hills High School. Following her sophomore year, she dropped out and got an GED. She went on however to earn the Bachelor of Arts Communication from University of California San Diego. She was a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied improv comedy.
