American actor Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8, 1967). Her most memorable roles include Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She also starred as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy on Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer market researchers. They separated at the age of seven. Courtney was seven years old and she was with both parents at different stages. Jennifer, her older sibling is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton high school, situated in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in the year 1985. She also performed with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while attending high school. Thorne-Smith was the first actress to make an appearance in the movie drama Lucas as well as Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. Thorne-Smith was also a part of numerous films in the late 1980s including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987), and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she was an actor in the box office movie Chairman Of The Bank, which failed along with Carrot Top. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith has dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen lover from Melrose Place. The actress was married to geneticist Andrew Conrad in June 2000. The couple divorced in 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group Marketing Company) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. She gave birth to Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008, at the age of 40.
